How I Finally Found a More Natural Dish Soap with Better Ingredients:

I have had the hardest time finding natural dish soap. Even some of the dish soaps that I have seen as “all natural” and “healthy alternative” to say more traditional and more toxic dish soaps have not been as good as I initially thought. I have scoured the internet and health blogs to see what people recommend, and then looked up all the ingredients in each of those soap products on the EWG or another database that lists ingredients and the side effects they may produce. I recognize that I used to just type in the product and see what they had to say, nevertheless, I found that they might give a low score to products for one reason or another but I still might not like the side effects of certain ingredients utilized. What I determined was that I preferred certain ingredients over others. Some ingredients might say that they may produce “organ damage” or “reproductive damage” or “irritation to skin” or “environmental” problems. To me those are very different things, and I might prefer picking one ingredient over another if I know it’s only supposed to cause irritation to the skin or shouldn’t be directly breathed as it could cause brief irritation to the lungs. I found that not all products are created equal within a company even. The company I found had some ingredients that I did not like in their hand soap, but I liked their dish soap ingredients. I was able to find one dish soap that met my criteria, but you might be looking for something different. In order to find a product that is healthy make sure to read each list of ingredients to ensure that you like the product rather than just reading reviews with lists of “natural soaps” and such. Make sure to determine what is best for you and your family as it might not be the same for everyone. Do your research as your hands and dishes will thank you.
